Hollywood Regency. Dorothy Draper style. 1940'-1950's set of 6 French style dining chairs. The triple oval ribbon back splats are what caught our eye.
From a single owner's home in the New York area, the chairs were lovingly cared for decades. There are two arm chairs and 4 side chairs. Cabriolet carved legs. Carved triple oval splats that we are referring to as "ribbon backs." Braided ribbon front and side seat rails.
Original muslin covering the bottom/underside. Each seat is covered with off white faux leather upholstery with an original green velvet trim that goes around the seat rail.
The seats are in good condition with minor wear. One arm chair has a small slit in the upholstery where it meets the arm and seat. The green velvet trim is a little bit loose here and there. The original wood finish has typical surface wear that we call patina. The chair frames are tight. There appears to be a small repair to the splat/rail on one of the chairs. We are not sure if it is a repair or if it was made that way. Maker unknown.
