Stately and commanding, this pair of old vases are excellent examples of Asian pottery. Likely Japanese Satsuma style pieces. Each is covered with moriage, a tiny raised decoration that resembles painted dots. The vases are each unique and different from each other. They were purchased by and from their original family/owner and the intent was to pair them together. And they look brilliant together on a mantle or credenza.
Bottoms are unmarked. Raised gold painted decoration on each. No chips, cracks. In near perfect condition with minor wear. Age unknown, not new. One vase measures 24" H x 8.5" W. The second measures 23.5" H x 8" W. Please pardon the light reflections in the photography.
