Lovely pair of 1940's all original Bergere chairs in an off white color frame. It's the lines and form that grabbed out attention. Well, the faded red damask upholstery is pretty too... Signed with original labels - A Mazor.
The frame color and the upholstery are believed to be original. Remarkably, the frames are in very good condition with some surface wear, tiny paint loss etc. The frames are tight and the chairs are very heavy in weight. These chairs can be used as is or can be re-upholstered in a new contemporary fabric.
The upholstery was originally red and through time, faded in a pretty and interesting array of reds, pinks and light reds. The fabric may be silk. The seat cushions detach from the frame and can be flipped over. One side of one chair's seat cushion has a "hole" as shown. The other side is in good faded condition. The second chair's seat cushion has a stain on one side. When flipped over it is faded. Welts have some wear from use and age and are worn through. One chair has a split near the arm on one side.
Seat height 16.5
