Beautifully framed original water color drawing by listed artist Don Bloom - 1932-2016.

Light cool orange and beige tones of watercolor paint over a pencil drawing. Painted on paper. Signed Don Bloom 1969 on lower right corner. Framed behind glass.
Please pardon the light reflections on the glass. The frame/mat are solid black.

Don Bloom began his professional painting career in 1954. His lengthy biography has appeared in Who's Who in American Art since 1970.
He has been awarded numerous national prizes in painting and editorial cartooning. His work has been selected for the Whitney Annual of American Painting, and he was a 1960 recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Painting.

Bloom is best known as a painter, but he has also pursued a rich career in cartooning and illustration. He illustrated Piscataway Story (1982) a two-volume workbook for children, authored by Margery Oleskie.

Behind the old framed backing, we found an old typed document describing Don Bloom's professional career.

We love the original frame in black wood with a black mat. The framing contrasts very well with the light tones of the watercolor/drawing.
