Need a little color and a focal point that makes the viewers of this piece ask what is this? It is quite special and definitely vibrant. We see it hanging above a console or credenza, flanked with two lamps and some major pieces of pottery to off set the vibe.
The inspiration for this painting, done in and around 1979/1980, was based on the dances traditional to Oaxaca Mexico. The ballet/dance is called Folklorica and preserves the traditional folk dances of eight regions of Oaxaca. We love the bright colors and movement in the painting. The primitive and naive qualities are what make it heartfelt and a little bit more special.
