Part of laying out a room's design is allocating space for beautiful and functioning case goods pieces.
Pardon the color of the photography. The true color is a honeyand brown tone, not orange.
This antique chest of drawers is just that.
It has a grand look. Has a ton of storage. The piece has beautiful wood grains and substantial presence.
5 drawers. The top drawer has a pretty round carved medallion.
The bottom drawer is almost hidden above the scalloped chest's skirt. Wood is believed to be mahogany with matched veneers. Each drawer has a key hole. There is a key provided that is used to pull the drawers open. The drawers do not lock with this key.
Maker unknown. Likely English. The backside of the chest has old and interesting paper attached.
If your home doesn't have enough closet space, large chests of drawers provide that needed storage for just about anything.
Condition - Heavy and substantial. All drawers open well. The sides of the chest of drawers and top has natural splitting in the wood. See photos. The top has a slight bow to the wood from age. Minor surface wear. A spot or two of raised veneer, almost like a bubble. The sides of the chest have a few pieces of missing molding that once surrounded the front and sides.
