Every little detail in a room gives the space more character. This lovely antique cast iron dog, sleeping peacefully with his curled tail, has a variety of uses. Primarily I see this little dog stacked on a pile of books. Maybe on a shelf or as part of a larger vignette.
Originally, this dog was likely a door stop. Maybe this little guy can still perform that function as the piece is quite heavy. We unsure how old the paint is. It is old but may not be original to when the dog was cast at his maker's location.
Heavy cast iron. Gold, gilt paint. Minor surface wear and small nicks to the paint from use and age.
